He is basically a self-taught artist with no formal art education, except whilst at school, where he was taught art by art teachers who were trained in the UK. As such, he learned the styles of the European masters like Rubens, Vermeer, Rembrandt, J.W.Turner, Peter Peder Monsted and John Constable and present day artists like Vladimir Volegov, Michael James Smith, David Miller, Andrew Tischler, and Yuehua He.
His upbringing in a small town has instilled a deep appreciation of the environment, nature, cultures and people which are vastly different from the cities in Malaysia. His art successfully combines the rich heritage and culture of all the races in small towns with fabulous landscapes and natural beauty that abound in these areas.
His art pieces have been bought by collectors in the US, Europe, Australia and India, as well in Malaysia.
